Valerie June — The Order Of Time: Reviews
Interesting artist
Valerie June is new to me. I find her so intriguing. She definitely has the potential to be great. And I mean really great. This is an album that's good but there are a few misses in there along with the hits. For example track one is (to me) great and her voice is so distinctive but then along comes track two and I find the same voice grating & annoying. Thankfully most of the songs come into the first category but I can't help but think if she had the best writers and better production she could release something that would stand the test of time up there with the likes of Billie Holliday.
Favourites tracks are "Long Lonely Road", "Shakedown", "The Front Door", "Just In Time", "Slip Slide On By" & "Got Soul"
Well worth a listen & I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her future.
